STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION TOWARD WATTPAD AS MEDIA TO ENHANCE READING SKILL

The objective of this research was to find out the students’ perception toward wattpad as media to enhance reading skill at fourth semester in English Education Department Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The researcher used descriptive quantitative research. The sample of this research was D Class of English education department students Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar which consist of 10 students. The Data was taken by using questioner with Google form .The data from questionnaire shows that mostly students considered the wattpad application to be a helpful for enhancing students' reading kills. It means reading in wattpad has a good impact on English learning activities in fourth semester students of the English Deparment of Muhammadiyah Makassar.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS’ PERSPECTIVE ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF HYBRID LEARNING IN SEMINAR ON ELT COURSE AT UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH MAKASSAR

This research used a qualitative approach to know students' perspectives on the implementation of hybrid learning models in the subject of seminars on ELT at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The research subjects were BGE19 class students totaling 10 people. Data collection was carried out by conducting interviews and presented in descriptive form.The results of this study show 3 different views in several aspects. Some students have positive, neutral, and negative perspectives on the implementation of hybrid learning models on the subject of seminars on ELT at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. But most students have a positive perspective stating that this hybrid learning model is favored and expected to be applied to other subjects. It can be concluded that the implementation of hybrid learning models on the subject of seminars is preferred and expected by students. The hybrid learning model should be improved and applied to other subjects by utilizing increasingly adequate technology to make the learning process more effective.

THE USE OF WATTPAD TO INCREASE STUDENTS READING SKILL AT FIRST GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 2 SUNGGUMINASA

This study investigated the effects of incorporating Wattpad, an online storytelling platform, on students' literal, interpretative, and reading comprehension skills. A total of 22 students participated in the study, and their comprehension abilities were assessed through pre-test and post-test scores. The findings revealed significant improvements in students' comprehension skills across all three categories after the intervention. In terms of literal comprehension, the majority of students initially struggled with understanding explicit information but demonstrated noteworthy progress in the post-test. Similarly, students exhibited enhanced interpretative comprehension skills, with increased ability to infer implicit meanings. Moreover, students' reading comprehension abilities notably improved, as reflected in higher scores and a reduced percentage of students in lower score ranges. These findings highlight the potential benefits of integrating Wattpad as a tool for enhancing students' comprehension skills and engaging them in reading activities. Further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects and optimal instructional strategies for utilizing Wattpad in promoting comprehensive literacy development among students.

EFL LEARNERS' PERCEPTIONS OF BUSUU APPLICATION IN LANGUAGE LEARNING BY EVALUATING THE TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE MODEL (TAM) AT SMAN 9 WAJO

The aim of this research is to determine students' perceptions regarding the use of the Busuu application in learning English for class XI students at SMAN 9 Wajo. Researcher used quantitative descriptive research. The sample for this research was class XI students at SMAN 9 Wajo, totaling 20 students. Samples were taken using a questionnaire. Based on the findings, it was found that students gave positive perceptions about the use of Busuu in learning English, positive responses came from their experiences in the learning process. The research results showed that based on Likerts score analysis there were 19 (100%) students in the positive perception category with a score classification of 60-100, and no students had a negative perception. It is categorized that Busuu used in English language learning is effective to apply, helps the learning process in the classroom. Recommendations for further research are to conduct research related to the use of Busuu in teaching and learning processes such as Cake, Duolingo, along with technological advances that continue to increase from time to time.

THE IMPACT OF RDEV EXAMBRO APPLICATION ON ENGLISH READING SKILL AT MTS NEGERI 2 BIRINGKANAYA

This research is about the use of the Exambro application, especially in the use of the Exambro application as a technological medium for English language exams. Along with the times, technology media are now used by various parties, not only in the learning process, but also used in the examination process. One type of technology-based media is the Exambro Application. The Exambro application is one application specifically created to help the exam process.It aims to find out how the Exambro application is used in English exams and to find out the perceptions of students and teacher about using the Exambro application in English exams. Researcher conducted research at MTS Negeri 2 Biringkanaya, 11 students from class VII was chosen as the subject of this study. The object of research is to determine the impact of the RDEV EXAMBRO application on English reading skills at MTS Negeri 2 Biringkanaya. The researcher uses the interview method as the method for this research. The data of this research is interviewed. Based on the research results, the impact of the Exambro application on english reading skill is students can easily understand the questions and have a positive impact on students reading skill.
