The subject of this research was the students of SMP Negeri 3 Bontomarannu of the third grade which consisted of 15 students. The research used quantitative descriptive method and used descriptive text to collect the data. To find out students' error the researcher used theory surface strategy taxonomy. The result of this research, the students still made the errors in simple present tense. The types of errors made by students in writing descriptive text was based on surface strategy taxonomy which classified into omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The participants of this research were the teacher and students of the seventh-grade students of SMP Yapend Bungaya. This research applied purposive sampling in the seventh grade of SMP Yapend Bungaya.. The research design applies descriptive qualitative research. The instruments used for collecting data namely observation and interviews. The result of the data indicated that, the teacher has a good preparation in facing the students. The teacher does approach to the students in order to know their characteristic, learning style and knowledge. After knowing that, the teacher adjusts the method and strategy with the students’ knowledge. It makes the learning process active between teacher and students, responds and feedbacks are going well. The method of this research was descriptive quantitative method. The data of this research was collected through a writing test as the instrument. The population were all students in the ninth grade and the sample of this research was students in class IX A consisted of 34 students. The sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The researcher found that from 34 students, there were 15 or (44.10%) students who got excellent category, 5 or (14.70 %) students who got good category, 5 or (14.70 %) students who got average category, 9 or (26.50 %) students who got poor categoty, and none students got fail category. Students have variety levels to used possessive adjective but most of them (15 students) can used possessive adjective in writing descriptive text correctly because they were in excellent category. The result of this research showed that the mean score of students’ ability to use possessive adjective in writing descriptive text at SMP Negeri 1 Sunggumisa was 70. This score was got based on the result of all the students’ score that were divided into the total of student who became the sample of this research. In speaking skill the students were able to speak smoothly, fluently and confident especially in using an idioms.The Students speaking skill in using an idioms can be seen in their perception. The research design in this research, the researcher used a descriptive qualitative research at the fourth semesters Muhammadiyah University of Makassar with the number of the subject 26 students. The instruments of this research was a questionnaire.The result of the data from questionnaire showed that mostly students can use an idioms in speaking as fluent and smoothness. The students also can improve their self confidence while speaking by using an idioms.</p> Muh.
