ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF INDONESIAN REPORT TEXT MADE BY THE FIFTH SEMESTER STUDENTS OF FKIP UNISMUH MAKASSAR

Abstract

This study aims to find out what types of translation are often used by students of the 5th semester of English education at Unismuh Makassar in translating a text. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method, and the instrument used is to provide a report text from Indonesian and then translate it into English in their own words. after that the researcher will analyze what translations are most often used by students when translating, seen from the results of the translation. The results of giving short report texts to students can be seen that the type of translation most often used by students is literal translation , then word to word translation and the last one that is rarely used is literal translation.
