PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN KONSTRUKTIVISME UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI PESERTA DIDIK KELAS X SMA NEGERI 1 GALESONG UTARA

The study aims at finding out: (1) to what extent the improvement of critical thinking skill of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara when using constructivism approach. (2) To what extent the improvement of creative thinking skill of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara when using constructivism approach. This study employs pre-experiment design utilizing One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The subject of the study is the first grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara. The technique of analyzing data employs Descriptive Analysis technique to describe the critical thinking skill and creative thinking skill of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara. In other words, the students’ average score of critical thinking skill and creative thinking skill before and after the teaching process shows an improvement. This is based on the improvement of N-gain for critical thinking skill as 0.6 categorized in moderate level and for creative thinking skill as 0.5 categorized in moderate level as well. Therefore, it can be concluded that critical thinking skill and creative thinking skill of the first grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Utara by using constructivism approach are improved in moderate category.
