Abstract

This method of this research was descriptive-qualitative method. The participant of this research consisted of the students of Ten Grade at SMAN 2 SINJAI in 2019/2020 academic year. In this research, the researcher used purposive sampling method, where the researcher took 5 students in each social class. The researchers selected 25 from 148 students as participants. Based on data analysis, it was found that the mean score of the questionnaire of the students perception on English teachers’ characteristics in ELT of conducting educational learning was 88,32% it means that excellent because 88,32%is in the range 81% to 100% means that teachers’ conducting educational learning is excellent. Communicative effectively, empathetic, and manner with the students was 90,4% it means excellent and utilize the assessment and evaluation for the sake of learning it means that excellent also. It indicated that students had positive response about English teachers’ characteristics in ELT. The findings showed that students need a conducting educational learning teacher in ELT. The students also said that games can make their class better and fun to study.
